The Community Alcohol Team see patients at Ladybarn Group Practice on alternate Tuesday afternoons to provide help and support to patients with alcohol problems and their families

Antenatal Clinic
Wednesday, 11am-12.30pm (by appointment only) 
There has been a Manchester reorganisation of the antenatal services. Midwife led antenatal clinics are now held at Burnage Sure start children's Centre.
our Community Midwife team, led by Sister Jenny Kelly is based at Whthenshawe Hospital and thre are a several specialist midwives working with those in difficult circumstances e.g homeless or young mothers.
If you think you may be pregnant please book early to see your GP or Nurse Practitioner who will discuss with you the best arrangement for you and will give you our practice leaflet with more detailed information about antenatal services.
Child Immunisation Clinic

8 week check & Child Immunisation Clinic (with Nurse, Health Visitor and Doctor)
Tuesday, 10am– 11am (by appointment only)
The Baby and Child Immunisation Clinic is held every Tuesday morning by the GP and practice Nurse. You will be sent an appointment fo the baby's 8 week check with the GP, and then see the practice nurse for baby's immunisation.
Family Planning
We offer a full range of Family Planning Services. Please see any doctor or nurse.
- EMERGENCY contraception advice is available from all the GP's and nurses.
The Family Planning clinic is held on Monday 4:30 -6:30pm by the lead Family Planning nurse – Sr Annette Stanford. Book appointments via recption or tel. 0161 448 4848
Diabetes Clinic
Every Tuesday between 2-5pm (by appointment only).

- GP Registrars also work in the clinic
- Neurovascular and Diabetes foot checks are done by the practice nurses by appointment.
- Diabetic retinopathy screening is carried out by local approved optometrists.
We have over 400 patients on our diabetic clinic and aim to ensure everyone has at least one diabetic review per year. We offer a wide range of support - with initial education after diagnosis, diet, lifestyle, exercise and mental health reviews. We have a clinic leaflet to help set out your agreed targets in care and toyr action plan. We can refer you to a number of services, e.g Smile exercise programme and health trainer, diabetes clinics, dietician, podiatrists.
- We aim to help you get the best control of blood suger, blood pressure, weight, cholesterol, smoking.
Drug Dependency Clinic
Every Thursday by appointment only.
The clinic is run by Community Drug Team workers, Dr Jullien Walkley and Dr Clare Singleton, with Sr Stanford providing health checks and immunisation.
The clinic is for patients in the locality accepted for treatment by the CDT not only for Ladybarn GP patients.
Minor Surgery
Our Minor Surgery Clinic can treat a wide variety of problems including:
- Cuts/grazes and lacerations
- Sprains and strains
- Bites and stings (including human/animal bites)
- Infected wounds
- Minor head injuries
- Minor eye infections, foreign bodies & scratches
Dr Joan O'Connor and Dr Walkley provide minor surgery for the removal of skin lesions
Appointments are booked through your GP
Patient Information Service
When we moved to our new premises we opened a patient information resource room staffed by volunteers with a touch screen information Kiosk. Although the information project has finished we provide an extensive array of information and educational health related materials for our patients.
We have have leaflets in many languages for example on depression and anxiety, stress, panic disorder, OCD, bereavement, understanding voices, heart disease, skin problems. Many of the leaflets are on computer and can be printed off for you as needed - please ask your nurse, GP or at reception about this.

leaflets etc, and can advise you about selected website that cover a range of health topics from smoking, alcohol and drugs to awareness of specific conditions, such as strokes, cancer and arthritis.
The patient volunteers are availabke on Monday afternoons and can give smoking cessation information and support too.

Stop Smoking
- Choosing to stop smoking can be one of the most important and worthwhile decisions that a person makes, however it may also be one of the most difficult. With the correct information and support, stopping smoking can be made easier.
- The aim of our Practice Nurse-led Smoking Cessation Service is to provide a service that incorporates specialist support from trained professionals, to help our patients to quit smoking. Please ask at reception for details of clinic times or ring 0161 448 4848.

Well-baby clinic
Tuesday, 11am – 12pm with Health Visitor
New babies are invited for regular check-ups. As well as the baby 8 week checks you can drop in to the clinic for advice from the GP about your child. However acutley ill children e.g with fever should be seen in the ordinary way and not in the well baby clinic.

The health visitor services have been reorgansed and we no longer have a Health visitor at the baby clinic. The health visitor baby clinic is held on Monday's at the burnage primary care resource centre. Please remember to bring your child's red book to every appointment.
For infection control reasons we are no longer able to supply toys, play mats etc in the baby clinic. Please bring your own toys. Whilst we try to minimise delay in waiting some weeks the baby clinics can be busy.

Travel Clinic
Annette Stanford runs the travel clinic and advice service. Please book an appointment to see her at least 8 weeks before planned travel date.
Non NHS Services
Some work is not covered by the NHS. We charge fees for work for which no fee is payable under the NHS.
Examples are:

Taking copies from patients notes
Routine consultations with visitors from abroad no covered by the NHS.
Private sick notes
Private prescriptions
Medical examinations e.g for HGV or Pre-employment
Insuranace claim forms
'To whom it may concern' letters
Taxi driver medicals
We get a tremendous amount of this work every year and we cannot afford to do it woutout being paid. An up to date list of medical charges is available at reception
