GP Training

steth.jpgWe train qualified doctors to be General Practitioners. These Registrars/ST3 Doctors have passed their medical exams and are registered with the General Medical Council as doctors. They will have worked for a minimum of two years in hospital. They spend 12 months working with us, usually starting in August each year.

At the end of the year of their training the doctor has to be certified as fit to practice as a GP and they take specialty general practice exams in the same way that hospital doctors take exams to become specialists.

We have two Registrars with us for the year August '09 to July '10:

Dr Lindy Savage
Dr Ruth Hartley

The GP Trainers in the practice are Dr Clare Ronalds and Dr Ahmed Abbas.

If you have any further queries about medical training at the practice, please contact our Practice Manager, Mr Andrew Pollitt.

F2 Doctors

Medical training changed from August 2006. All doctors are to have at least 4 months experience of working in General Practice. We are taking the new F2 doctors from August "06, as a pilot. Each doctor will spend 4 months with us, i.e. 3 doctors over the 12 months. Dr O'Connor will supervise F2 training.

Dr Miranda Lutkin is our new F2 doctor and will be with us for four months from December 2009.

Medical Students

Currently we do not have medical students working in the practice; all our doctors are fully qualified.
